Washington State University compares itself to the following 22 institutions. Each is a land-grant school with a vet med program. The Washington state legislature recognizes these schools as WSU's peers.
In addition to the legislative peers, WSU has seven Global Challenge State peers as identified by Washington Learns, a commission established by Governor Gregoire to study Washington’s education system. These peers are land-grant schools in Global Challenge States, the top eight performers in the new economy, which includes Washington.
An internal initiative compares WSU to members of the Association of American Universities (AAU), an elite group of America’s most prestigious and influential research universities. Twelve of our 22 legislative peers are members as are three of our seven global challenge state peers. Go here for a printable list of legislative and global challenge state peers and AAU membership.
